The Sonata Hybrid graduated to the newer platform on which the non-hybrid Sonata is built. In 2015, the conventional Sonata was redesigned on a whole new platform. The Hybrid received that upgrade for 2016, and with it, improved ride, more interior room and better fuel economy. A plug-in variety of hybrid debuted in 2016. Its system allows up to 27 miles on electric power alone, while conventional hybrid technology eliminates the range anxiety associated with all-electric vehicles.
